Abstract

Lighting intensity, colour, and design have a significant impact on human health, workplace and driving safety.  Additionally, lighting performance, energy efficiency and cost effectiveness are real-world aspects that need to be balanced.

Exterior lighting can affect the visibility of the stars in the night sky, but and also on the ecology of wildlife. It has therefore become controversial and a serious matter to control by improved technology, technical standards, or by local government regulation.

Bryan will talk about the interplay of all the factors mentioned above materially advance safety, energy and environmental outcomes with lighting.
