Catalysts for good practice

New Zealand employs an estimated 77,000 engineers (PwC 2023), and these technical groups play a significant role in promoting good practice among them. By attending this event you will learn about the challenges that each group faces as they wrestle with our ethical obligation to ‘consider the environment’ (‘kia mataara ki te taiao’), and the opportunities they are focussed on as a catalyst for good practice in each field.

The purposes of this webinar series are:

  • To provide a forum for frank and open communication about the challenges we face in protecting the environment in our role as engineers.
  • To showcase some of the best initiatives that are being made by Engineering NZ's various Technical Groups to enhance the sustainability of engineering activities, with a particular focus on the urgent issue of the climate crisis.
  • To share inspiration / motivation / ideas / networking with other Technical Groups as they continue to serve as catalysts for change in this area.
