Comments on the draft advice of the Climate Change Commission on the strategic direction of New Zealand’s second Emissions Reduction Plan

The Climate Change Commission’s draft advice on the strategic direction of New Zealand’s second Emissions Reduction Plan was released for consultation on 26 April 2023. Dr Neitzert presented the main points of the advice with elaboration on relevant merits and shortcomings. Engineers for Social Responsibility prepared a submission on the draft advice, and discussion after the presentation informed this process.

About Dr Thomas Neitzert

Dr Thomas Neitzert is a professor emeritus of mechanical engineering (Auckland University of Technology). Thomas has held various leadership positions in industry and in academia in New Zealand and overseas. He is a past president and the current treasurer of Engineers for Social Responsibility Inc., and is secretary of the Wise Response Society Inc.
