Abstract: Dr Jim Salinger has just returned from meetings in Geneva where he is President of the Commission for Agricultural Meteorology at the World Meteorological Organization. Jim is at present Honorary Research Associate at the University of Auckland School of Environment. He was a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change”
With the volcanic ash over Europe causing so much disruption, Jim will be able to provide a most interesting talk on the international issues surrounding climate change.
